The Field Training Office (FTO) serves as the vital bridge for ensuring a seamless transition from recruit to fully capable, job-ready firefighters. The office provides comprehensive oversight, coordination, and delivery of the department’s field training program, integrating rigorous classroom instruction with structured, scenario-based practical training to develop the technical skills, operational judgment, and professional conduct required for effective field performance. Staffed by a dedicated leadership team consisting of a captain and four lieutenants, along with highly skilled certified instructors, the FTO collectively manages instructional operations, evaluates recruit progress, and upholds the department’s training standards, ensuring a consistent pipeline of well-prepared, mission-ready personnel.
The Internal Affairs Office (IAO) investigates allegations of misconduct within the district, documents its findings, and forwards a recommendation of action through the proper chain of command for leadership review and final disposition.
IAO operates as an impartial investigative body and does not independently issue major discipline beyond limited administrative actions allowed by policy.
