The Fire Rescue Battalion is responsible for all fire suppression, rescue, and technical response operations within the Lakeview City Fire District. It manages firefighting strategy, rescue operations, and specialized training programs such as Urban Search and Rescue, Hazardous Materials, and Wildland Fire. The battalion ensures that every firefighter is trained, equipped, and ready to respond to any emergency. Under the direction of the Battalion Chief, Fire Rescue coordinates closely with the Emergency Medical Battalion and Special Operations to maintain seamless response capabilities across all incident types. Its members uphold the district’s commitment to professionalism, safety, and efficient service during every fire, rescue, or technical emergency.
The Hotshots Company, occassionally referred to as CalFire, is responsible for managing and suppressing brush fires and conducting rural search and rescue operations. The companyoperates the High Rock Park Fire Tower and plays a key role in monitoring and responding to fires in remote or heavily wooded areas. While traditional wildland units focus on containment, this company’s mission prioritizes rapid suppression due to the population density of Lakeview’s surrounding communities. The company’s members are trained in wildfire behavior, rural rescue techniques, and coordination with local agencies to ensure fast and effective response to any fire or rescue emergency in the region.
